Fence Slat Centerpiece

I have absolutely adored this fence slat box my husband built for me for Mother's Day. I have also used it as an everyday centerpiece and as part of a Fourth of July tablescape. Quite the multipurpose box!

I needed something different to go in the (what do I call it? a box? planter?) whatever you call it and I found this flower arrangement fit perfect.

I did absolutely nothing except add a clay pot and a candle for each end.  This is the essence of easy DIY!

As a side note, I have a wonderful Pinterest board with my wood love here and this is how I want my hubby to fix our kitchen table when the kids are done coloring it in with pencils and scuffing at it during school. No telling when that will be. What do you think?

  2. I didn't take time to see the pinboards, but I LOVE the way the fence slats were used :). I love reusing wood. We had to rebuild our deck so we have a little "re-claimed" wood of our own I have so many ideas for.
