Menu Plan Monday August 13, 2012

Here was the plan for last week:

Monday: cubed steak, corn on the cob
Tuesday: chicken pot pie, roasted potatoes
Wednesday: 8-layer casserole
Thursday: beans and wienies, french fries
Friday: out of town (taking my son back to college ~sigh~)
Saturday: BBQ chicken

I actually stuck pretty close to the plan! Sunday night we had all the family over because it was Joshua's last weekend before going back to college. I made homemade hamburgers and buns (recipe to follow soon) with baked broccoli and homemade strawberry ice cream. The ice cream was a fairly big fail. I got the recipe off the internet and I think I needed to double it because it was very thin (it was frozen but had an indistinctive taste). My husband had the brilliant idea to add our strawberry freezer jam as a topping and that made all the difference! You could put this jam on a stick and it would taste good!

I did make this Copy-Cat In-N-Out Burger sauce (for the hamburgers) and it was amazing. We had some extra and I had to find things to put it on!

Here's the hope for this week. Does that sound better than a plan?

Monday: Hot dogs wrapped in biscuits, baked beans in the crock pot
Tuesday: Baked French Toast, bacon
Wednesday: Pork Chops in the Crock Pot, rice
Thursday: Mom's Night Out (homeschool moms), leftovers
Friday:  Poppyseed Chicken
Saturday: Pizza (crusts and sauce from Costco)

What are you serving this week? Any great Pinterest recipes you want to share? If you haven't followed me yet, I'd recommend my Pinterest boards Food:Crockpot/Freezer Recipes and All Things Chocolate. Well, I'd follow all of them but these are two of my favorites!

  1. I usually plan our weekly meals, too; but summertime, especially, seems hard to always stick to the plan. I am now following all your Pinterest boards, but I can see why the Crockpot board is one of your faves. Oh, we love In & Out Burgers!

  3. I make a similar casserole to the 8 Layer One and it's a family favorite. We don't have In and Out Burger, but I'll be trying that sauce soon!
