Lamp Makeover

I haven't posted any pictures of our major flooring and room makeovers because I keep thinking it will all come together soon. Apparently, that ain't happening. I have a couple of gallery picture walls that I'm working on and that project is taking forever.  Finding the frames, spray painting them white, arranging them and deciding on pics and enlargements are way too many decisions for me.

I would like to show you a little project I did last night. No before pics, but trust me when I say this little lamp was ugly. Plain off white base, plain off white shade. No more!

Tim painted the base from leftover spray paint and I hunted around for some fabric from my scrap stash. (I don't sew but through years of kids making doll clothes and costumes I have an assortment of leftover fabric.) It was a jersey type material and I wasn't sure it would work, but Tim used spray adhesive that worked nicely.

Here's a tutorial much better than I could ever do. I wasn't half as careful or precise and didn't cut out a template first. I just used chalk on the fabric and cut it out. Easy peasy! Of course, it wasn't perfect but I found the trim in my scrapbook stash and it fixed all my wrongs!

I used some books I had on my shelves, a flower I bought for $1 at a yard sale and my little side table was done. It makes me happy!

Here's a look at the new recliner we bought that I promptly claimed as mine. I have a basket for books, a big fuzzy blanket and I am in heaven!

This is in our den in the back of our house so you can see the new wall color. Lovin' it!

Total project price: $0!!! Everything I used was from my stash of supplies. Can't beat it!
