Many of my most cherished memories and traditions surrounded the Christmas holidays. Mom loved to decorate, hosted her Sunday School class ladies annually and always had a new decorated sweatshirt or sweater for the season. As I remember my mom this year this picture comforts me and brings back precious memories. Even as the tears flow I celebrate her life and the strength she possessed from her relationship with her Lord and family.
One of those unexplained happenings that reassure us God is in control when it seems like nothing makes sense: my mom's mother died on December 23rd, my mom on Dec. 24th and her father on Dec. 25th. I believe my mom and her parents are in heaven looking down and enjoying their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Before my mom died she was always asking me about her parents and if they were at home. Now they are all "home" together. My mom is reunited with my dad and they are both without pain and free to worship the God they loved.
Revelation 21:4
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
For those of you who are experiencing a bittersweet Christmas season because of the loss of a loved one, I encourage you to embrace the pain while still seeking the abundant blessings that come from our Savior's birth.
MY FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN
I see the countless
Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
was always most important
the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other,
my Father said to do.
I can't count the blessing or love
He has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year

that was just beautiful!! It's so difficult to imagine christmas this year without her. I love you
