Wedding Pom Poms

One of the main design elements in my daughter's wedding came from an inexpensive, fun and easy (though time consuming) project that involved the whole family in preparation. We used sheets of tissue paper to make simple pom poms for the church and reception. They were literally everywhere. We used purple, teal and white in varying sizes according to its placement and purpose.

We used large white pom poms to hang on the doors leading into the sanctuary, along with the couple's monogram.

We also hung them from sashes draped over the memorial table and unity sand table on the platform.

We hung them down the aisles on the sides of the pews.

We hung them from the mantle behind the cake table.

Another shot of the beautiful mantle.

The pom poms even appeared on the food tables!

More decorations at the reception.

Here's a link to instructions on making the pom poms.

The cost of tissue paper and curling ribbon: $42

  1. That is an ingenious idea! ... and so much cheaper than flowers. I just love it and although our kids are only 6 and 8 (and hopefully marriage is a long way off yet ... I keep reminding dd to finish school, work then get married and have babies) ... I will keep this is mind :-)
    So colourful and original.

  2. Love these! I'm making some for my dd's ariel party, and was wondering if I should just do the turquoise but I seeing it with the purple, I love it!
